Multimedia concert project celebrating the 10th anniversary of Laudato si', in concern for our common home. Regional cantor Johannes Trümpler performs Messiaen. Olivier Messiaen is known to many as a lover of bird songs. He not only collected, categorized, and musically notated bird songs with unusually natural and meticulous precision over the years as part of his intensive work as an ornithologist, but also repeatedly quoted them in numerous of his works. In his work as an organist, Johannes Trümpler has always held Messiaen in high regard and has been engaged with his music for over 25 years. Since 2024, in addition to his work as regional cantor, he has worked at the Kirchwald Wild Bird Care Station. The appreciation that Messiaen shows for wild birds can serve as a reminder for us today and inspire reflection on our own treatment of animals, plants, and resources.
