Immerse yourself in the magic of midsummer night on our exclusive midsummer hike with llamas!
The event starts and ends directly below the castle ruins of Schönecken on the pasture of the eifelnomaden. After an entertaining introduction, during which you will get to know the llamas and learn how to lead such an animal, you will set off with your guide on a two-hour hike into the nature reserve.
Right at the beginning, we hike down into the valley of the Altburgbach stream and follow the stream, whose bed winds its way through the forest in countless bends. After a while, we discover a towering rock hidden among the mighty beech trunks: an ancient fortress is enthroned on top of it. A steep climb awaits us here: a narrow path winds its way up the slope to the top of the rocky outcrop. Many centuries ago, Celts hid in the refuge when it became too dangerous out on the open plains - a magical place!
A little later, we reach the "Op Ischt" plateau and enjoy the sweeping views across to the High Fens. We explore the hidden treasures of nature and get to know some medicinal herbs, including the calming St. John's wort, the soothing yarrow and the fragrant meadow sage.
When you return, a fire is already flickering in the fire bowls in front of our open stable.
Enjoy the conviviality and exchange experiences with other nature enthusiasts while you indulge in culinary delights. Enjoy our barbecue buffet by the fire bowl with Eifel meat and fresh bratwurst, various salads, antipasti and dips, farmhouse bread and a cheese platter. Non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks are also available, including the unique Eifel gin from the Euelsberger distillery.
