Hiking Trip

Look forward to a diverse company celebration with animal companionship in the Schönecker Switzerland!

Your tour starts and ends right below the castle ruins of Schönecken at the pasture of the eifelnomads. After a brief introduction, where you will get to know the llamas and learn how to lead such an animal, you will start your hiking trip into the nature reserve.

The Schönecker Switzerland is a little-known but incredibly diverse nature reserve in the Southern Eifel. It is characterized by deeply incised valleys with clear streams and wide plateaus. In late autumn, the red-golden foliage will enchant you. From the end of November, snow often covers the forests and harvested fields. With the right clothing, your llama hike is a unique experience, as even cold winter weather is no problem with the cozy llamas by your side!

Right at the beginning, we head down into the valley of the Altburgbach. Orchard meadows and the dark silhouettes of juniper bushes accompany us. Then we climb the ridge "Op Ischt" and let our gaze wander all the way to the High Venn. Shortly afterward, we dive into the beech forest and follow the Schalkenbach on its way down to the Nims.

After about an hour of hiking, we arrive! The rustic crêperie "Nice Corner," located directly on the riverbank, awaits us. Here we can choose between delicious sweet and savory crêpes: Are you in the mood for a crêpe with chocolate and banana, or cheese and onions? Should it be a freshly baked waffle or a tasty sausage? Would you like to drink cocoa, soft drinks, or coffee with it? Would you like to warm up with a (non-alcoholic) mulled wine or a tea? You have the choice!

We sit comfortably together for about an hour. Meanwhile, our llamas graze on the adjacent meadow. Then we head back up to the Schönecker Switzerland and to the castle ruins of Schönecken. After another hour of hiking, we return to our stable. By now, it's time for the ultimate group photo of your animal company celebration! 

To book your company celebration, you can simply choose a suitable date and request the tour. You must be at least six people. From a group size of 10 persons or more, you can request an individual offer from us.

P.S. Alternatively, you can end your company celebration with a campfire session directly at the pasture. Please inquire about this directly with us!

Included: approximately two-hour hike with llamas; two people share one llama
approximately one-hour break at the crêperie with seating in a tent
"Gourmet package" with one crêpe, one waffle, or one sausage, as well as two drinks of your choice

What to bring: Hiking shoes with firm, non-slip soles, day backpack, water bottle, warm, waterproof clothing, headgear (no umbrellas)

Participants: minimum of 10 people

Requirements: Average fitness required (total distance about 7 km, pure hiking time about 2 hours, altitude difference 150 m), participation under 18 years only with an adult. Unfortunately, dogs cannot be brought along.
