What is it actually?
The picture book cinema has developed as a special form of reading aloud and storytelling. While the story from the book is read aloud or told, the pictures are projected in large format onto a screen via iPad and projector.
The picture book holds a special significance for children's development. The stories and images in books help children cope with everyday experiences and open up a fascinating world of new experiential spaces. The format of the picture book cinema introduces children to books in an exciting and playful way. The aim is, in the broadest sense, to motivate them to read; imagination should be stimulated, and linguistic expression skills should be promoted.
