Schönecken
Hike
Our alpacas and llamas graze directly below the Schönecken castle on a traditional fruit meadow. There, we get to know the animals in a relaxed manner and make our first lead attempts in the pasture. Then our hiking adventure in the nature reserve "Schönecker Schweiz" begins!
Right at the beginning, we hike down into the valley of the Altburgbach. Traditional fruit meadows and the slender silhouettes of the juniper bushes accompany us. We follow the Altburgbach, whose bed winds through the forest in countless bends. Finally, we reach a narrow bridge. Will the alpacas and llamas manage to descend the stairs to the bridge? Will they walk over the bridge? Here you can prove that you have already become good llameros and llameras! This is how the llama guides are called in the South American Andes!
Now a steep ascent awaits us: A narrow path winds its way up the slope. It leads us to a hidden ancient refuge that towers above the Altburgbach on steep rocks. Here, centuries ago, Celts hid when it became too dangerous outside on the open plains. We take a break here for a while. Those who want can explore the rocks. Surely we will also have plenty of time to take photographs with the alpacas and llamas. Then we hike back through the fields towards Schönecken and almost at the end of our tour reach the old castle of Schönecken.
Back at the pasture, we have to say goodbye to our loyal companions, the alpacas and llamas.
