Llama Hiking

Our two-hour gourmet hike begins and ends right below the ruins of Schönecken Castle. After a brief introduction where you get to know the llamas, we start our tour into the protected area of Schönecker Schweiz. Right at the beginning, we hike down into the valley of the Altburgbach stream. Orchard meadows and the dark silhouettes of juniper bushes accompany us. Then we climb the ridge "Op Ischt" and let our gaze wander as far as the Hohes Venn. Shortly thereafter, we enter the beech forest and reach a hidden clearing where the gentian blooms in late summer. We follow the Schalkenbach stream as it flows down to the Nims and after about an hour of hiking, we arrive at the creperie "Nice Corner," which is located directly by the riverside.

Here we can choose between delicious sweet and savory crêpes, freshly baked waffles, or even a tasty bratwurst. We sit together comfortably for about half an hour. Meanwhile, our llamas graze in the adjacent meadow. Then we head back up into the Schönecker Schweiz and to the ruins of Schönecken. After another hour of hiking, we return to our stable. Here we say goodbye to our faithful companions, the llamas.

What to bring: Hiking shoes with a solid, non-slip tread; day backpack, water bottle, rainproof clothing, headgear (depending on the season for sun, rain, or cold)

Participants: exclusive, individual event for a small group with a maximum of 4 people

Requirements: Average fitness level required (total distance approximately 7 km, pure hiking time about 2 hours, elevation difference 180 m). Minimum age for handling an animal: 10 years. Participation under 18 years only in the company of an adult. Unfortunately, dogs cannot be brought along.
