Children's Hiking Trip

We welcome you at the entrance gate to the llama meadow. Our llamas graze near the castle ruin of Schönecken on a traditional orchard. After a short introduction, you will learn interesting facts about the life of llamas: Where do these animals actually come from? How do you lead a llama?

Then we will go together to the paddock, where the llamas are already waiting for us curiously. Here you will get to know our llamas in more detail. The calm nature of the animals gives you plenty of time to do so. The llamas are very patient and loving in their interactions. At the paddock, we will make our first attempts at leading.
Depending on the age and interests of the children and teenagers, we will either stay in the fenced pastures or go hiking in the nature reserve:

For children up to 12 years old, we will set up an obstacle course. Together with all the children, we will walk from the paddock to the course and initially complete the course together. After that, the teams will start individually, with each child taking their turn as a llama leader. The course includes, for example, a slalom and a low gate for the llamas to walk through. Do the llamas dare to go through a flutter curtain? How about the small bridge: Will all the llamas stay on the narrow path? Both children in the team are challenged with these tasks and help each other.

With children and teenagers aged 12 and above, we undertake a hike in the nature reserve. Here, every two children/teenagers will share a llama. We will adjust the route to match the age and fitness level of the children.

After returning to the paddock, the animals will be unclipped and allowed to graze in the meadow. We will conclude the day with a joint knowledge quiz, where at the end a llama driver's license can be obtained. Depending on the chosen variant, we will end the birthday celebration by the campfire.

Duration: 2 hours (without) / 3 hours (with refreshments and campfire)

Not included: Upon request (for an additional fee) joint grilling at the campfire, including drinks and bread on a stick (Other refreshments such as salads, sausages, etc., can be brought along, sticks, etc. are provided)

What to bring: sturdy footwear (even in summer, no sandals), day backpack (no shoulder bags), water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, head covering (depending on the season for sun, rain, or cold)

Participants: exclusive, individual event for a group with a maximum of 6 children and 2 adults (basic price)

Requirements: No special fitness is necessary (total distance about 3 km, pure hiking time, elevation difference 50 m), completed and pre-sent checklist. Minimum age for independently leading an animal: 12 years (llama hike). Dogs cannot unfortunately be brought along.
