Immerse yourself in the magic of Midsummer Night at our exclusive Midsummer hike with llamas! The event starts and ends directly below the ruins of Schönecken Castle on the pasture of the Eifel nomads. After a brief introduction, where you get to know the llamas and learn how to lead such an animal, you will set off together with your guide for an approximately two-hour hike into the nature reserve.

Right at the beginning, we walk down into the valley of the Altburgbach and follow the stream, which winds through the forest in countless curves. After a while, we discover a towering rock hidden among the mighty beech trunks: an ancient refuge rises on it. A steep ascent awaits us here: a narrow path winds up the slope to the cliff. Many centuries ago, Celts hid in the refuge when it became too dangerous outside in the open plains—a magical place!

Shortly thereafter, we reach the plateau "Op Ischt" and enjoy the wide view all the way to the High Venn. We explore the hidden treasures of nature and get to know some medicinal herbs, including the soothing St. John's Wort, the beneficial yarrow, and the fragrant field sage.

Before returning to our open stable, a cheerful fire already flickers in the fire bowls.
Enjoy the camaraderie and share experiences with other nature enthusiasts while indulging yourself in culinary delights. Enjoy our grill buffet at the fire bowl with Eifel meat and fresh sausages, various salads, antipasti and dips, farm bread, and a cheese platter. There are also non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, including the unique Eifel gin from the Euelsberger distillery.

What to bring: hiking shoes with a firm, non-slip profile sole, day backpack, water bottle with water, suitable clothing; a warm sweater and a light jacket for the evening, possibly headgear (depending on the weather for sun and rain)

Participants: at least 4 full-paying participants; maximum of about 14 people

Requirements: average fitness required (total distance about 6-8 km, altitude difference 110m), minimum age for leading an animal: 10 years. Participation under 18 years only with an adult. Unfortunately, dogs cannot be brought along.
