The Prümer Land is a magical region full of contrasts and scenic beauty—sometimes rugged and wild, sometimes charming and gentle, and often so beautiful it’s almost kitschy. Here, body and mind find time, space, and plenty of fresh air to breathe. Even though I don’t live here, I still feel right at home.

The Prümer Land region is located in the southwestern part of the Eifel, a low mountain range in the far west of Germany, within the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It borders North Rhine-Westphalia to the north and neighboring Belgium to the west.

Trier – Prüm approx. 55 km as the crow flies (62 km by car)
Aachen – Prüm approx. 70 km as the crow flies (117 km by car)
Koblenz – Prüm approx. 85 km as the crow flies (110 km by car)
Highlights include the historic St. Salvator Basilica in Prüm, the Kruft Sculpture Park in Niederprüm, the Schönecken Castle ruins, and numerous views of the Eifel. The Mühlenberger Stollen visitor mine in Bleialf, the small railway museum in Pronsfeld, and the Prüm Museum are also popular destinations.
The highest mountain in the Prüm region is the “Schwarzer Mann” in the Schneifel, a ridge north of Prüm. At nearly 700 meters above sea level, this forested area is a popular destination for hikers, winter sports enthusiasts, and bargain hunters. The Schwarzer Mann log cabin attracts visitors with its sumptuous cuisine and beautiful outdoor terrace.
