The Prümer Land region is located in the southwestern part of the Eifel, a low mountain range in the far west of Germany, within the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It borders North Rhine-Westphalia to the north and neighboring Belgium to the west.

Highlights include the historic St. Salvator Basilica in Prüm, the Kruft Sculpture Park in Niederprüm, the Schönecken Castle ruins, and numerous views of the Eifel. The Mühlenberger Stollen visitor mine in Bleialf, the small railway museum in Pronsfeld, and the Prüm Museum are also popular destinations.
The highest mountain in the Prüm region is the “Schwarzer Mann” in the Schneifel, a ridge north of Prüm. At nearly 700 meters above sea level, this forested area is a popular destination for hikers, winter sports enthusiasts, and bargain hunters. The Schwarzer Mann log cabin attracts visitors with its sumptuous cuisine and beautiful outdoor terrace.

Krausbuchen Wanderweg
RommersheimHidden in the middle of the forest are the three Kausbuchen, also known as Süntelbuchen, which give this circular trail its name. Short trunks, twisted and partially intertwined branches with drooping twigs and a crown that grows wide rather than high describe the Kraus beech. Find peace and quiet, recharge your batteries, let your imagination run wild - the mystical Kausbuche beech trees invite you to do just that.
