For me, the most beautiful experiences of nature can be found in the small side valleys of the Kyll, Prüm, Our, and Sauer rivers. They are rich in biodiversity, rare, and unique.

The Prümer Land offers a wide variety of hiking opportunities. Hiking over the hills and through deep forests, past the “Schwarzer Mann” in the Hohes Venn Eifel Nature Park, the trails connect deep forests and high moorland paths. Schönecker Schweiz enchants visitors with its mystical rock formations and unique geological and botanical features—especially along the Prümer Land Tour – Route 2.
The Schneifel Moor Trail, the Bach-Pfad Leisure Trail in the Naturwanderpark delux, and the Schneifel Trail—which serves as an access route to the Eifelsteig—have been certified and awarded the “Premium Hiking Trail” designation by the German Hiking Institute.
The hiking trails in the Prümer Land range from easy walks to hikes through valleys and more challenging hikes that involve climbing a few meters in elevation.
In the Prümer Land region, you can explore a variety of landscapes on foot:

There are several hiking trails in the Prümer Land region that are suitable for families. The hikes are less than 10 km long and involve only a slight elevation gain. Children can enjoy excitement and adventure as they explore mystical rock formations, discover streams, or follow educational trails through the forest or mining sites.
Since hiking trails are often located far from towns and villages to offer a unique experience of nature, there aren't always places to stop for a break. You should always make sure to have enough water and food in your backpack.
