Just a few kilometers from Prüm, the Schönecken Castle ruins sit high atop a hill. From here, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the valley, while the ruins convey a centuries-old history of power, elegance, and rulers. The castle brings the military history of the Middle Ages to life, while the St. Salvator Basilica in Prüm, with its magnificent architecture, offers insight into the region’s spiritual history.
After experiencing the majestic basilica in the town of Prüm, where the walls bring the region’s history to life, an old railway car from 1940 in Pronsfeld, right on the bike path, opens a whole new chapter. At the freely accessible railway museum, you can take a break from April through October at Café Stullwerk with homemade cake and specialty coffees. An absolute must—for a true historical EXPERIENCE.

Former Prince Abbey of Prüm
With over 12,000 exhibits on 1,300 square meters, the Prüm Museum is one of the largest museums in the Eifel.
In the House of the Guest (Altes Amt), constantly changing exhibitions are offered by the cultural center Altes Amt. One focus of the exhibitions is the Kultursommer Rhineland-Palatinate from May to Oktober.
In the middle of the town of Prüm you will find the St. Salvator Basilica, the landmark of Prüm. A visit to the baroque parish church is worthwhile.
Explosion crater Kalvarienberg
The Konvikt - House of Culture or House of Church Services, under the sponsorship of the Prüm Municipality, houses various facilities, clubs and associations - including the registry office, the central library, the adult education center and the Eifel Tourismus (ET) GmbH. Events are also regularly held here.
