Christian Pabst Trio - RHYTHMRIOT

With Rhythm Riot, the German pianist and composer Christian Pabst, who lives in Italy, presents his latest and now sixth album, which has been nominated for the German Record Critics' Award, among others.

Recorded at the Loft in Cologne, this album radiates a powerful kinetic energy, driven by the telepathic interplay and the unique, melodic sound of this exceptional European piano trio.
While creating the album, Pabst repeatedly grappled with the question of what music can mean in a world that is constantly ablaze and rife with conflict.
And so Pabst’s newly composed original works celebrate a very personal “Rhythm Riot”: a rhythmic protest that deliberately views music and creativity as a powerful counterpoint to the dark and destructive tendencies of our society. He is supported in this endeavor by his two longtime companions and veterans of the European jazz scene. JazzEcho Award winner André Nendza on double bass and Erik Kooger, one of the most sought-after drummers in the Netherlands, round out this perfectly attuned trio.

Event organized as part of the partnership between the associations Bluebird Music ASBL and Jazzinitiative Eifel e. V. regarding the mobility of music ensembles between Luxembourg and Rhineland-Palatinate.
