"Im Grunde Golden – Sounds of a New Beginning" with the duo "raan."

With its compositions, “raan” redefines the repertoire for the flute-and-guitar duo. Added to this is the use of the electronic wind instrument (EWI) as an additional sound source. Sound innovator Andi Reisner coaxes sounds from his electric guitar that perfectly complement each composition. And Rainer Berger not only masters the classical art of the flute but also expands his sonic spectrum with beatboxing and other contemporary techniques.
This year, “raan” takes up the theme of the Rhineland-Palatinate Cultural Summer 2026 with its new program “Im Grund Golden – Klänge zum Aufbruch” (Essentially Golden – Sounds of a New Beginning): The Golden Twenties. The 1920s were marked by a new beginning in art, music, technology, and society—an era full of energy, exhilaration, and contradiction. Even today, a century later, we live in a time of fundamental transformation. ‘raan’ explores this theme through music, bringing to life the parallels between the events of these two decades—from crisis to new beginnings.
