What are Swiss Tracs?

The so-called Swiss-Tracs are electric traction devices that can be attached to a wheelchair. They help wheelchair users navigate paths with inclines, uneven surfaces, or small obstacles more easily. This makes it possible to explore nature more independently and comfortably.

The traction devices can be quickly attached to a wheelchair. Wheelchair users can explore selected trails together with a companion and enjoy nature.

There are currently three service stations in the Südeifel Nature Park that can help you plan your trip. They provide information on accessible routes and handle the preparation and maintenance of the devices. They also offer tips on accessible dining and lodging options.

This initiative creates an additional opportunity to experience nature with fewer barriers and enables joint excursions for people with and without wheelchairs.
