Where once charcoal makers and darkness shaped the image of the Schneifel, a special wooden figure today reminds us of the story of the Black Man.


Inauguration

On the information platform "Schwarzer Mann," a carved charcoal burner stands as a symbol of the old craftsmanship tradition. This year, the Nordeifel Nature Park has restored the nearly 20-year-old figure, which had been damaged by the rough Schneifel weather, with funds from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Additionally, another statue has been erected at the hiking parking lot Brandscheider Kreuz. The figures will be inaugurated as part of a small information event.

All interested parties are cordially invited to attend the inauguration. No registration is required.
