Bachelorette party with a llama/alpaca hike and a gourmet stop: It’s the perfect combination! Spend a perfect afternoon with our llamas in the nature reserve and refuel with some homemade cake along the way. This tour is also great during the colder months!
Hike
Look forward to a fun and unforgettable bachelorette party with the bride and her best friends! Enjoy some time outdoors and experience nature together with the fluffy llamas and alpacas that you’ll lead in pairs. In between, feast on delicious homemade cake and hearty snacks at the hiking rest stop right on the Nims River.
Even if you don’t usually spend much time around animals, you’re sure to quickly take these peaceful and curious creatures with their big, round eyes to your hearts. Llamas are very easy to lead because they’re herd animals. This means you’ll have plenty of time during the hike (and, of course, during your break) to chat and enjoy the day. Schönecker Schweiz is a little-known but incredibly diverse nature reserve in the Southern Eifel. It’s characterized by deeply carved valleys with clear streams and vast plateaus. On the valley slopes, rare orchids bloom beneath slender juniper trees. Incidentally, the region owes its name to the gentian, which grows here just as it does in the Alps. In the fall, the reddish-gold foliage enchants us. In the winter, snow covers the forests and harvested fields.
Your two-hour gourmet hike begins and ends directly below the Schönecken castle ruins on the eifelnomaden’s llama pasture. After an entertaining introduction, during which you’ll get to know the llamas and alpacas, you’ll set off on the hike together with your guide.
Right at the start, we hike down into the valley of the Altburgbach. Scattered orchards and the dark silhouettes of juniper bushes accompany us. Then we climb the “Op Ischt” ridge and let our gaze wander all the way to the Hohe Venn. A short while later, we’ll enter the beech forest and hike gently downhill to the Schalkenbach. We’ll follow the stream as it winds its way down to the Nims and, after about an hour of hiking, reach the hiking parking lot, which is located right on the riverbank.
Here we can refuel with delicious homemade cake. Would you like a soft drink or a coffee with it? Would you like to warm up with some (non-alcoholic) punch or tea? The choice is yours!
We’ll sit together comfortably for about half an hour. Meanwhile, our llamas will be grazing in the adjacent meadow. Then we’ll head back up into the Schönecker Schweiz region and on to the Schönecken castle ruins. After another hour of hiking, we’ll return to our stable. Here, we’ll say goodbye to our faithful companions, the llamas and alpacas.
