Lama-Abenteuer zum Kindergeburtstag

eifelnomaden

2:00 PM

Celebrate your child’s birthday with the llamas and alpacas from eifelnomaden! Experience an unforgettable birthday with the llamas and have fun together in nature. We’ll go on an entertaining llama and alpaca hike with the animals, where you’ll need to work as a team. At the end, you can even earn your llama-handling certificate!

Kids' Hike

We’ll meet you at the entrance gate to the llama pasture. Our llamas and alpacas graze in an orchard meadow near the Schönecken castle ruins. After a brief welcome, you’ll learn interesting facts about the lives of llamas: Where do these animals actually come from? How do you lead a llama or alpaca?

Then we’ll walk together to the paddock, where the llamas and alpacas are already waiting curiously. Here you’ll get to know our llamas better. The animals’ calm nature gives you plenty of time to do so. The llamas and alpacas are very patient and affectionate. At the paddock, we’ll make our first attempts at leading them.
Depending on the age and interests of the children and teens, we’ll either stay in the fenced pastures or go for a hike in the nature reserve:

For children up to 12 years old, we’ll set up an obstacle course. Together with all the children, we walk from the paddock to the course and complete it together first. Afterward, the teams start one at a time, with each child taking a turn as a llama guide. The course includes, for example, a slalom and a low gate that the llamas must walk under. Will the llamas dare to walk through a fluttering curtain? What about the little bridge: Will all the llamas stay on the narrow path? These challenges require both children on the team to work together and help each other.

With children and teens ages 12 and up, we go on a hike in the nature reserve. During the hike, two children or teens share one llama or alpaca. We adjust the route to suit the children’s age and fitness level.

After returning to the paddock, the animals are unsaddled and allowed to graze in the pasture. We wrap up the day with a group trivia quiz, at the end of which participants can earn their “llama driver’s license.” Depending on the option chosen, we’ll conclude the birthday celebration around a campfire.
