Lamawanderung Teamausflug (halbtägig)

eifelnomaden

10:00 AM

This day belongs to you as a team! Forget about the stress of everyday life and enjoy being outdoors together with the peaceful and curious llamas, which you always lead in pairs. Your four-hour trekking (with a guide) takes you through the forests and over the meadows in the nature reserve "Schönecker Schweiz".

Hike

Look forward to a varied and unforgettable llama and alpaca hike as a team! Enjoy your time outdoors, far away from your desk and the daily grind. Experience nature together with the fluffy llamas and alpacas, which you’ll lead in pairs. Even if you don’t usually have much contact with animals, you’re sure to quickly take these peaceful and curious creatures with their big, round eyes to your hearts. Llamas and alpacas are very easy to lead because they’re herd animals. This means you’ll have plenty of time during the hike (and, of course, during breaks) to chat and enjoy the day.

Your tour begins and ends right below the Schönecken castle ruins on the Eifelnomaden pasture. After an entertaining introduction, during which you’ll get to know the llamas and alpacas and learn how to lead them, you’ll set off with your guide on your hike into the nature reserve.

The Schönecker Schweiz is a little-known but incredibly diverse nature reserve in the Southern Eifel. It is characterized by deeply carved valleys with clear streams and vast plateaus. Rare orchids bloom and slender junipers grow on the valley slopes. Incidentally, the area owes its name to the gentian, which grows here just as it does in the Alps. In the beech forests, the ground is carpeted with snowdrops and wild garlic in the spring. In the summer, the broom glows. Narrow hiking trails crisscross the area, where you rarely encounter other people.

Right at the start, we hike down into the valley of the Altburgbach. Scattered orchards and the slender silhouettes of juniper bushes accompany us. Then we climb the “Op Ischt” ridge and enjoy the sweeping views of the plateau. Later, we venture into the beech forest and arrive at a hidden clearing, where we take our first break. Above the Schalkenbach, we continue on narrow paths right through the heart of the forest. Finally, we reach the ancient Celtic refuge, perched atop steep cliffs above the Altburgbach. Here we take another short break and have plenty of time to take photos with the llamas. Then we’ll head back down into the valley via a narrow path from the rocky outcrop. Following the Altburgbach stream, we’ll reach our starting point again after about four hours.
