Live Theater Oh meine Götter

Konvikt - Haus der Kultur

12/13/26
7:00 PM

An adventurous journey through the history of gods, goddesses, and the one God, about questions of faith, doubt, and religions.

Theater

People have always sought guidance, answers to questions of meaning—questions like “Where do we come from? Why? Where are we going?”—and a spiritual compass for their lives. Following a faith, belonging to a community of believers, and sharing values and moral principles play a decisive role not only in the lives of individuals but also in shaping our world. Yet finding this sense of direction seems more difficult today than ever before. At the same time, fanaticism and dogmatism are gaining more and more followers—the persecution of those of different faiths occurs in nearly every religion in the world.
How do we deal with this?
Lilith—Sumerian goddess, demoness, Adam’s first wife, witch, icon of feminism—the figure of Lilith runs like a common thread through the history of faith, mythology, and literature. Lilith takes us on an adventurous journey through 4,000 years of religious history. Witty, thought-provoking, and thrilling—sometimes serious, sometimes funny, and always moving—we provide a stage for the key figures of religious history. Stories of love and betrayal, selflessness and the pursuit of power, doubt and hope.

A production by Knirps Theater, Bad Ems. For ages 15 and up.
Director: Jürgen Flügge * Performer: Astrid Sacher * Set Design: Kirsten Sauer.

About Knirps Theater:
Knirps brings theater to the audience—to places where professional theater performances aren’t a given
. In schools, libraries, community centers—in rural areas, as well as in socially disadvantaged urban centers.
We perform for adults, children, and teenagers—for many, this is their first encounter with theater.
Our work is based on thorough research and a sense of responsibility toward the themes,
characters, and the audience. This results in tongue-in-cheek parables—plays that address current issues and
offer different perspectives—entertaining, cheeky, and accessible to the audience.
